Applied for ILR in person today and decision pending

Hi all,
Just need to seek peoples opinion. I applied for my ILR today via PEO and was told they were still waiting for confirmation and will give me a call once they have a decision.
So my ILR was based on a WP for 5 years have been working with same company this 5years and only been out of uk for 2 weeks for Work purposes.
Also all my documentation were intact and fine as confirmed by the case worker. But on carrying out a biometric registration and check, he came back to say my fingerprint flagged up on their system and asked if my fingerprint details have been ever been taken by the police, then at that point explained to him that I was arrested one time in london for a case and released with the decision 'No further action required' and this was 7years ago. He then said thats fine and I should come back in 2 hours while he get the confirmation of the same status from the police or their system.
But I came back 2 hrs later only to be told he still hasn't gotten any confirmation and apologised and advised that rather than waiting I should head back home and once he gets those confirmation he will contact me same day or the next day. He then handed me all my documents including passport and told me to wait for his call and decision.
Please can someone help in explaining what it means or if they have experienced such and normally how long do they take to get back. Am just restless at the moment.
Thanks ALL
