ILR : Previous earnings:Unanswered point

I am sorry if i am repeating this.
I thank the seniors for part answering my query and should be grateful if this is clarified.
Can i claim points for previous earnings if :
1) The earnings have a gap. eg, April 2011-Mar 2012 with Zero earnings in July 2011
2) The earnings are for a period of less than 12 months eg, July 2011-May 2012(total 11 months)
In both the situations these are earnings over a consecutive 12 months in the preceeding 15 months pe4riod. And are enough to earn required points.
