I have completed 5 years on UK Work Permit / Tier 2 visa. My parents have just arrived in the UK on a family visitor visa last month (May 2012) to stay in UK for next 4 months. I have sponsored their visit completely.

Can I apply for ILR now when my parents are in the UK?

How does your parents visit to the UK affect your ILR application? Is there any specific reason why you think it will?

As my parents are in the UK on a family visitor visa which is tied to my Tier 2 Visa (as I sponsored them), will it be OK to convery my Tier 2 Visa to ILR during their presence in the UK?

You worry is imaginary.
Apply for settlement as when you become eligible to.

I cannot see how your parents visitors visa can affect your ILR application. After all your parent visa was granted to them on the basis of the information and proof they provided at the time they applied. That proof although included your immigration status in the UK, did not tie your Tier 2 visa to their visitors visa. All they had to proof is that they have somewhere to stay (your house) and you were to cater for all their costs. To approve the visa, UKBA required them to show that you existed, and that you were in the UK legally. So go ahead and apply for ILR without feear.
