Hello ppl,
Well i am preparing the paperwork for ILR 10 year route with all legal and continuous stay.I have couple of doubts please .

>My passport expired and I got the new issued recently but all previous and current Leave to remain stamps are on Expired passport .
>Also when i got my new passport issued I changed my surname to my Husband's surname ,

Q1)Under "SET O form ( field 1.9-Passport or travel document number) "
should I give my new passport number or the expired passport number.

Q2)Should i Fill the form with my new name ( changed surname )

Should I use my New Passport number and new name ( married surname) to fill the form.
Also I could add a cover letter to explain HO & marriage cretificate.
Please guys if could clear this for me. thanks a lot.

Hello, but i am confused as my all previous/existing Leave to remain was on my expired passport and I am applying as per the records of my Expired passport.
So should i still fill the form with my New passport and explain the case in a Cover letter to HO.

First Point: You would have normally transfered your condition of leave into your new valid passport. which it seems you did not do... DO that if you are able to.

Second: Name wise on the application form you have a field where u enter your name and any previous known names...

Firstly I have read in HO website and it says below
: "You do not need to transfer your visa or residence permit to your new passport. If you choose not to transfer your permit, you should carry both your old and new passports when you travel to the UK "

Secondaly.. on to my original qstion...So u suggest I Just use my New passport numbr + New Name (Married name ) to fill SET 0 and give my previous name in the provided section.

you don't need to transfer yyour leave on to your new valid passport (only thing is that you would need to always carry both passport when leaving or arriving in the country)...

On the application form put your new name and in Previous name field put your previous name...You would need to attach marriage certificate with your appliction..

If you want you can specify it in your cover letter but that is not needed as well because that's obvious...
