10 years long stay category does not have a financial requirement. I do not think this £16000 savings requirement exists.

I am in a similar situation and in this forum I have been told that my wife can apply for ILR as soon as I get mine since she has been a dependent of mine, here in UK for 2 years already. There is a sticky note in this forum to explain the details of this. You should read this;

I hope this helps.

I just phoned home office they said for long residency i am fine but for my wife when she apply as a flr m i need to be either earning 18500 per annum or 16ooo pounds saved up for six months
