Hi,

I am wondering if Tier 1 (G) dependants have to take any english language test in order to eligble for ILR. I was reading the ILR form, and the way I have understood it, if a dependant can pass 'life in the UK test' then they will be automatically understood to have possessed the sufficient english capabability and therefore can avoid any additional test to be taken.

Please could you advise.

Thanks.

You only require to pass Life in UK test. If you read it carefully, they use a clause "OR" there.

Thanks. No my question was about the dependant. Does the same rule apply to them as well?

I have read it but a bit confused.

Thanks.

Yes, your dependents only need to pass LIUK, so do not worry.
