HELLO ALL,

i really appreciate an urgent honest advice. i came to UK from pakistan in 2004 on a student visa. i completed my bachelors on the same visa in 2008 and then got into post study work visa in the same year. after 2 years before my visa expires, my employer got me tier 2 visa for 3 years uptill october 2013.

unfortunately i lost my job on july 14 and that was my last day at work. on 8th august i came back to pakistan and now planning to go back to uk on student visa in jan 2013.

my question is that will this break my continuous residency? please note that i have never voilated any immigrations rules.

thanks

Here is my understanding;

If you left the UK with a valid leave to remain and If you return within 6 months with a different valid leave, you are fine.

Try reading through these notes; Page 14 is particularly important for you;

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary

It will all come to two important points;
1. Did you leave with some leave to remain on your passport,
2. Did you manage to return within 6 months.

That is, if you do not have another hole on your immigration history.

Try also reading Jon336's rejection story and how he successfully overturned the decision with a happy ending for extra motivation for you;

I hope your luck returns.
