Self Employed Vs Employed

Hi All,
Not sure if this is the right forum. I recently went to Citizen Advise Bureau to get my Set (O) form checked before my ILR application whcih is in 2 weeks.
My accoutant always stated that a director of a private limited company who draws salary and dividend is not considered self employed. I asked this question to the CAB lady and she looked on their internal website www.cabadvisernet.org.uk and showed me self employed definition. The definition clearly stated that a director of a limited company is not classed as self employed.
My accountant stated because you are drawing salary and dividend from a company, hence you are paying all Taxes anyway. Paye Tax on salary and corporation tax on Dividend. However, i have a friend who marked Selfemployed check box when he got his ILR even though he was employed through his private limited company.
I do not want to confuse anyone. However, it seems in Home Office it does not matter what you click, till the time you are able to provide adequate evidence of your income, it should be fine.
Kind Regards
