I first saw these around 4-430 today evening.
People who are looking for appointments, do logon randomly during the day, you will find that there are appointments available.
I think cancellations become available immediately now, as opposed to earlier when all slots opened at midnight (new or cancelled).
Also, appointments for 2 days later are more likely to become available today (as most people cancel before 2 days, when its their last chance to cancel).

Appointments do sometimes get released during the day, either when someone cancels or reschedules existing ones. I've noticed this over the past couple of weeks when searching at random times, mostly though at around 9.30-11am.
Something appears to have happened this week, where the booking site was down almost every night (i.e. @ & around midnight when new appointments usually get released) other than last night. Today when I searched for Croydon PEO SET(O) appointments between 3.30pm & 5.30pm I could see appointments for Jan 15th, 16th & 17th being released incrementally. This covered all slots from 8am - 3.50pm. To me it appeared as if though any new appointments that would have normally been released @ midnight during the first few days of this week, were all being released sequentially this afternoon in one go. There were also a few December appointments appearing among these which may have been people who were rescheduling their own appointments when these new appointments appeared. All the appointments were gone by 6.30pm.
It's also true that you will see cancelled appointments, usually two days away appear when searching in the morning, so anyone who wants make a change or book at the last minute, it's worth checking during the day for these.
