Is there any particular reason why you want to switch from T1G to T2G; rather than extend your leave as a T1G Migrant which gives you greater flexibility for employment? To answer your question, if you are asking whether you can combine the time you resided in the UK as a T1G & T2G Migrant towards your 5 year residence for ILR, then the answer is yes (according to the current rules).

To add, once you leave Tier 1 you can't get back to it since the category is closed. On top of that, We've been hearing rumours that they're gonna stop ILR for T2 since they are classed as temporary workers (God knows how much truth is in that but just thought I should put it out there)

Hi,
Reason for not extending the Tier1 is due to less points. That is the only reason. Otherwise i could have gone for extension.
