What if someones biometric letter is lost in the post and he never recieves it and 15 days to enrol pass by? What happens then?

Surely UKBA does not send the biometric enrolment letter as Signed For.

Is there a way to find out, by telephone or email what is the progress of the application and whether or not biometric letter is dispatched by post?

well as it stands they are taking donkeys years to send biometric letters out. I applied for my wife's FLR(M) on 4 November. Rung them up yesterday to ask where's the biometric letter and they told me it hasn't even been sent yet and that continue to wait.

You can try calling them on 0870 606 7766 to find out whether the letter has been dispatched. They send biometric invites using second class post and they are not sent using recorded or special delivery (i.e. so cannot be tracked).
