PEO Solihull success - 16/01/2013

Friends,

Thank you all very much for the help.

My application was successful albeit with little confusion.

I am sole director/employee of my private limited company. I take a salary and dividend from this.

Orignals and copies supplied (also copies):
a) Payslips (11 months)
b) Business bank statements
c) Personal Bank statements
d) Dividend vouchers (I took this twice in a year)
e) Letter from accountant confirming salary, company, profit and loss.
f) Life in UK
g) Passports
h) Photos
i) Company documents - company registration, vat certificate (I think any one of documents supporting the company is sufficient but take as many as you have)
j) HMRC supplied tax and NI history - I don't think this is necessary but he saw it with me and requested for copy.

The only glitch was my ICICI debit card declined payment (though I had upped the limit to £1500.00 and mentioned about this payment 3-4 times well in advance). I called the call centre but it was quiet useless effort.
The officer at PEO suggested I try using 2 cards if I have....fortunately I had my business debit card and this split worked. This delayed me by about 2 hours (fortunately I had 10:00 AM appointment).

Employees of Home office were patient and willing to help me.

Thanks again.

Regards,
s_a_n

Hi gaboon_viper

Case Worker asked me for the documents one by one...original and copy (essential - i.e., payslips etc.)

As for company documents - he asked me for HMRC VAT or Copr tax from HMRC. I was not sure. I just told him I had following documents and gave them to him - I think he was looking more for some sort of a proof about the company.

Congrat's s_a_n! I didn't realise a bank could impose restrictions on your debit card transactions, so long as you had sufficient funds in your current account. You mention a upper limit of 1500, was this an over-draft limit by any chance?

Either way, glad to hear it worked out and you were allowed to use two cards.

Thank you Guru,
It is not an over-draft. I had a balance of over £2K in current account.
ICICI has a daily limit of £750.00 (for fraud purposes I suppose) but they mentioned they can up it to £1500 on request (I requested for both online and merchant).
I did this and they confirmed it was all done but something did not go right.

gaboon_viper - I did not give any corporation tax proof or tax codes. I just gave him VAT registration proof, company registration doc. etc. If you have paid any VAT, your business bank will have these entries. You can ask your accountant to mention your VAT payments in his letter. I think they have access to check your payments etc. Don't worry too much about this.
