ILR or Visa typr?

Hi all,
please i need advise for a friend currently on ILR but outside UK now to deliver her baby in Canada.
her ilr was issued in Oct 2012 and she gave birth Dec 2012 in canada
Since her baby can come into the country with the canada passport, please what visa can she apply for her baby when in UK and how long will d baby wait for before applying for British passport.
