Dear All,

When applying for ILR, do I need to translate every visa stamp on my passport if it isn't in English? Do I also need to translate any information on my passport that is not in English?

Hi Mike,
As per my knowledge, IN set(O) app ..no where HO asking about the other visas, we just need to mention UK IN and OUT dates, I hope dates should be in number format, IN my case I had been to dubai visa is not in English, I haven't translated ...

I've never heard such case.

First find out which route you qualify under, and locate the application form for that route. Most of the requirements will be listed in the form itself.

That's more to do with main documents I suppose.
That will be bit unreasonable for you to get those stamps translated, thinking logically it's main reason is to tell them when you were out and in UK. I am applying only with dates in/out of uk, in description you can just add the country name. dates remain in numbers in my case for many countries.

After all, don't worry Border Agency already has your details with them. As long as it's not wrong and not a lie, it's all fine.

Hi all,

I know this is an old thread, but I'd like to share our experience as of December 2016:
1. We were asked for translation of the stamps that had no date in Arabic numerals (yes, they exist). The rationale was that the caseworker could not tell when the applicant left the UK through that stamp.
2. We were asked for further proof for the times the applicant had left the UK but were no stamps to support this. The applicant is a spouse of an EU national, so leaving the UK and entering an EU country without getting a stamp at all is possible. Since we had a premium appointment, they somehow accepted the e-mail booking confirmations as evidence, but if I were to do it again I would make sure to find some better evidence than just an e-mail (maybe a letter from the airline or the company the ticket was booked through?).

I'm sure the above are edge cases, but I'd like to note them here since this thread is top result in some Google queries. So, it's not a case of just writing the absences, every absence should be supported by a passport stamp, which should be translated if the date is not in Arabic numerals and further evidence should be submitted if there is no stamp.
