Accountant letter
Life in uk.
My short story

930 biometric
945 said payment go through come back in hours time
1045 got orignals docs with Aproval letter

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply. Need a word of advise please. I have PEO appointment at solihull next week tuesday. I work for Indian MNC and have spent 84 days in 2010 in India working for an offshore project when my assigment here was complete. I cannot get an employer letter for the same. I am on Tier 1 General as well (1 Yr work permit + 4 Yrs Tier 1). What would be the best reason to mention for this 84 days?
Option A - Business Trip and dont take any proof. If asked, try to explain that for Tier 1 General, no proof is required as per guidelines? Will Caseworker buy that?
Option B - Visit Family. Here will they not ask why such a long trip to visit family? I have made 7 other trips apart from these 84 days in 5 years. all around 15-25 days.
Please advise.
Thanks

Was your business absence one while you were on a Work Permit? If not I don't see an issue in you mentioning that as the reason for the absence, without an employer letter to confirm it.

Thanks cs95tdg. The 84 days absence was on a Tier 1. I can mention as "Business Trip". In case the caseworker asks for employer letter as proof as absence, can i show the "ilr-calculating-continuous" document and explain that the proof is not needed for Tier 1 holders? I have been employed with the same MNC all these 5 years. This Business trip was for setting up a offshore team / inducting new team member at offshore to work with us at onsite and I was paid in India during that time. I can show the Indian payslip. But if they ask for employer letter, then I have a problem. The truth is the employer does not encourage to give such letters for ILR. I am not sure if I can state the same reason to CW. This is the only issue with my application. Rest all aspects are fine. Since solihull peo checks the documents before payment, I am planning to go anyway without proof and try my luck.
Thanks Gaboon_viper, While I can mention as Family. How can I expain 84 days for a family visit please? Also, all my other trips during those 5 yrs are for family visits. My absences are as follows
Trip Date Left the UK Date Returned to UK No of Days Reason for absence
1 16-May-08 25-May-08 9 To Visit family in India
2 25-Apr-09 10-May-09 15 To Visit family in India
3 16-Jan-10 08-Feb-10 23 To Visit family in India
4 15-Jun-10 06-Sep-10 83 Business Trip
5 17-Mar-11 09-Apr-11 23 To Visit family in India
6 25-May-12 11-Jun-12 17 To attend Sister's wedding in India
7 03-Sep-12 16-Sep-12 13 To Visit family in India
8 15-Nov-12 18-Nov-12 3 Holiday to Dubai
Trip 1, 6 and 7 were made to attend weddings of siblings. I have wedding invitation card for Trip 6, thats why i mentioned the reason as wedding. For Trip 1 and 7, I dont have the hard copy of marriage invitation with me right now, I have the scanned copies.
As I have mentioned many family visits already, I am not sure if I can mention Trip 4 also as family. As you can see, in 2010, I already made a visit in Jan/Feb to India. That was for a medical reason.
I dont know what reason to state honestly. I have to make up my mind soon as PEO appointment is Tuesday next week

From the cases I have seen so far, its possible that caseworker may ask for proof inspite of being on Tier 1. I have to succesfully explain and convince the case worker of the rules and to ignore proof. Any ideas to do this is most welcome....

case worker will know that you are on tier1, no need to show them ILR calculating continuous . All your holidays are within the limit. Dont worry too much. You are fine

Thanks Gaboon_viper. So you suggest, i leave it marked as "Business Trip". If asked by case worker for proof, I would explain that holidays do not cross 180 days in a year and I am on Tier 1, so I didnot bring employer letter or any other proof as suggested by Guideline docuement.
Does my explanation sound ok please? I am very tensed and trying to relax at the moment. I wish and pray that everything will be fine on Tuesday...

You can certainly keep a copy of the guidance with you for your own peace of mind, but I doubt it will come to you actually needing it. Additionally, as you are going to Solihull, you will have the advantage that you don't need to pay, unless the CW is happy with your application and any supporting evidence. If you search this forum, you will find that the majority of T1G applicants did not require an employer letter for any of their absences. So don't worry.

Thanks a lot cs95tdg. Your words are very encouraging. I hope that I will not have to answer any queries regarding absences
I was on work permit for the first year where I have taken 9 days off. I dont have any proof for that as well. I am hoping that since its only 9 days, case worker will understand that its annual holiday. Fingers crossed !!
