Entry Clearance?

Hi All,

I'm applying for ILR, and the guidance notes state:
* An applicant will be awarded no points for a Bachelor’s degree if:

(a) his last grant of entry clearance was as a Tier 1 (General) Migrant under the rules in place between 31 March 2009 and 5 April 2010, or
My relevant dates are:
- Received HSMP 16/04/2008
- Received Tier 1 (General) 13/03/2010

Sorry if this is an obvious question but I just need to be certain - my "last entry clearance" refers to my HSMP awarded 2008, and not Tier 1, therefore I qualify to apply for ILR?

Thanks for your time.

You are right you will be awarded 30 points as you entered in HSMP.

Thanks!

So just to be sure - HSMP was the Entry Clearance, Tier 1 the extension of the clearance?

Entry Clearance, or Leave to Enter - is the visa you apply for in order to enter the UK.
Extension or Further Leave to Remain - is what you apply for in order to continue your stay in UK, or extension of your permission to remain in UK while you are already here.
