ilr for spouse

Hi all, this is my 1st post

Well i am on spouse visa i applied for it in sept 2011 and i have to pass english test which i did it was like esol entry level 1 and as i applied from student visa so i was granted 2 years exactly now 1 question is do i have to apply in last 28 days from 17oct 2013 as that wen it expires and i have to pass life in the uk test but do i have to pass any english test also if am granted ilr do i have to wait a year before apply for naturalisation or i can apply straight after as i will still b married to my wife who british will give me chances of applying straight after ilr as i heard it is possible


Can any one plz advise on these questions thanks

Yes you apply 28 days before visa runs out, no the new English requirement doesn't come into force until October 2013, you're applying before, all you need is life in UK. Yes you can apply for citizen as soon as ilr is granted providing you're married to a bc and meet the resident requirements (3 years in UK legally under any visa) and the other requirements good character etc... You could do your ilr app at a peo then book in for ncs 10 working days after peo so that you have your brp.

Ok thanks a lot so thats means i have to book peo appointment before 30 sept and after abt 20 sept as so i dont have to do that english requiremnt thing thanks again

The new test from October 2013 is for settlement. So providing you apply before October you'll be fine. The peo is far better than by post as you'll likely get a same day decision (as 90% do). Though posting an application even using the scs can take 6 months!

Ok thnx that cleared a lot of confusion in my mind n yh i always prefer pep than postal application.
