Hi All

I am currently on Tier1 General and my two dependants are on Tier1 dependent and all of us have valid visa till October 2014. I have completed 5 years in Uk (as WP+Tier1), my wife has also completed 2 years, my daughter was born here and we all are elligible for ILR now.

Queries:
a) Is it possible for only me to apply for ILR and my dependents can stay on current Tier1 (PBS) Dependent Visa?
b) Will they be able to travel from/to UK on current visa after I have changed my visa to ILR?
c) I can't find any PEO appointment for 2 dependents, any help would be appreciated?
d) What is current ILR fee for a postal application only for a DEPENDENT? Is it same as for main applicant i.e. £1377?
e) I am currently working as a contractor since 2012 and was on a permanenet job earlier for 4 years. My company year hasn't finished so no corporation tax has been filed yet, will that be an issue? I have VAT transactions in my business account, will case worker do additional checks since I am contractor for an year only and working as a director of Limited company?

I'd really appreciate your help. Please give pointers to book apointment as well.

Many Thanks
Radhe

Because both you and your wife are eligible to apply for ILR, and your child was UK born, you need to be looking for appointment with 1 dependent. Once you get your ILR, your child will 'Register' as a British citizen - his birth certificate and your ILR approval are only proof required, besides the customary. From there on the child goes on to get passport. It took me about a month and a week for the entire process for my two kids earlier this year.

Thanks wpilr_nov12 for your reply.

I want to keep same visa status for my child as of mine so I am thinking of getting ILR and not citizenship.

Can you please advise on other queries if you know please? As you area a GURU so I expect you can advice in right direction :) Cheers

In that case, your dependents do not need to do anything immediately, or until their current visa expires - they don't necessarily need to apply for ILR. But definitely apply for extension or ILR at a later time during validity of current visa.

Will they face any difficulties travelling on Dep visa once you have ILR, not sure - this is a relatively new arrangement.
