There is no formal assessment for visa purposes. It is important to provide 'evidence' of the violence in the form of Police and/or medical reports for example.
It is difficult to prove many cases of DV because most happens in private.
If the applicant has been assisted by a refuge or charity this can be of great assistance in the application.
Sadly this is a much abused (no pun intended) route to ILR so it can take a bit of convincing.
My sister-in-law was subject to a MARAC (multi-agency risk assessment conference and classed (quite rightly) as high risk . Her ILR was through in seven days!
If you or anyone is a genuine victim (it does not need to be physical violence) my recommendation would be to get help ASAP. Citizens Advice may be a good start or and organisations such as Womens Aid can help.
It is now possible to claim benefits as a victim of DV before ILR is granted.
The UKBA website does give indicators of the documentation they are looking for. They also can process visas at a great rate of knots where appropriate.

I contacted my MP for assistance in SET(DV) application. response I received from MP is that your application is waiting for security checks and will be declared shortly . but he didnt mention that is it going to be yes or no. but i beleive security check is the last stage for an application to be granted or Decided.

My question is should i do some thing more to straighten the application or I assume that my security check be clear and i will be granted.
