Overseas trip while looking for a job

Hi,
In the light of new rules for ILR (For Tier 1 holders), what do you do about the absences when you have been looking for a job? Specifically 2 cases:
1. You leave your existing perm employers, take a break + travel overseas and simultaneously search for a new job. So no income for that month/no employee letter for that absence.
2. You are a contractor (Director of your own ltd company). Your contract expires. You start looking for a new contract + travel overseas. You are paying yourself through your ltd company during the break.
How would you present those cases? What evidences/reasons etc?
Thanks
J
