Will it reset the 5 year clock when an ILR application is rejected after expiry of existing leave as Tier-1? What can be done to prevent this situation?

Thanks Syed,

When should I apply for extension before expiry of existing leave or after I have a decision on ILR? Also, Can we apply for extension while ILR application is still under consideration?
