Border Agency returning documents

A stupid question perhaps but wondered if anyone could help.
When the Border Agency return passport, marriage certificate and other documents to someone who is applying for ILR do they send them by registered post? Do they send in an A4 white envelope?

Any help much appreciated

Enclosing a pre-paid traceable envelope is always recommendable because for postal applicant they mostly use normal 2nd class despite BRP is being delivered via DX courier.

Thanks for your reply.
Getting in a right stress here as we were left a card by Royal Mail which was for a registered delivery of a white A4 envelope which needed to be signed for. We can't get it until later in the week but wondering if it may be from BA retiring our documents or something a bit more sinister. My husband is worrying in case it is a rejection letter or them wanting more evidence of our relationship.

Why imagine the worst. It could be good news. Be Optimistic .UKBA return the documents by recorded delivery. Keep us posted.

Hi Kevin
Thanks for the reply
My husband is incredibly stressed by it all. I am hoping it is not a letter asking from more evidence as we really don't have anything else to send. Am thinking if it was they would have just posted the request as part of standard mail rather than registered. That's why I was asking if documents are usually returned in an A4 envelope by registered post

Agree with you. I have no experience My self.It must be them returning the documents in a package. Why not pick it up tomorrow.

Nothing can be predicted until the post/package being checked. It may be from someone else. Keep in sharing your experience. Best of luck.

But still collecting this package as quickly as possible would be more advisable.
