Hi Guys,

Just need sum advice with regards to applying for ILR theu spouse visa and using the Set(M) form........My husband initially was granted Student visa, which he overstayed and then left voluntarily.....we got married in his country and then he applied for spouse visa which was granted.......we been living together since in the uk and now hes applying for the ILR using the Set(M) form......----> Under section 9.....9.11 Says --- How long have you lived in the UK........while answering this should we take into consideration only the dates when my husband was issued the spouse visa or the dates which he was issued with Student Visa before we got married. Hope it does make sense the way i have put it. Please advise.

It's a very poorly-worded question. Include the student years as that is correct by the application of pure logic, but it does not matter if you don't as the question (and the next one) is only really interested in your qualifying residence period under your current leave.

lol......thought u meant it for the way i had quoted the querry.......yeah it is indeed a poorly worded question on the Set(M) form......i guess they just intend to know details regarding the time during the spouse visa. The student visa bit should be irrelevant.
They should have mentioned it clearly in the question if they need the information regarding the specific visa on the basis of which you are applying, or any visa you have had earlier.
