Hi there,

I am applying for ILR next month. Looking through the forum, I was unable to find a clear statement on what evidence I need to produce for my absence. As such I decided to post my individual situation and hope someone will kindly help me!

I have been on Tier 1 for 3.5 years and was on WP for 1.5 before switching to Tier1. I worked for 2 employers in total and I switched to Tier 1 while with my first employer. I have fewer than 180 days of absence from the UK during my qualifying 5 years period. My questions are:

1) Do I need an absence letter from both employers, current employer only, old employer only or none?

2) If a letter is needed, would it be sufficient for my employer to state that: I was/am employed with them from date-1 to date-2 and that all my leaves were for holiday purpose and they were all fully paid? or do they have to list all holidays I have taken in the letter?

3) Do I need to provide additional evidence that I was being paid during the 5 years period and in what form please (Bank statements, signed monthly payslips, P60s, employment history, other)?

Thank you so much guys in advance!

It's unlikely you'd be asked for a letter if the absences are <180 days for each 12 month period, but your example seems reasonable enough,
