ILR (Tier-1). Appointment is on 16th September.
-->my ILR period is from 15th Sep 2008 - 16th Sep 2013 (actual granted period starts from 30th June 2008 and ends 7th Nov 2013 - 5 years 4 months)
-->I am absent from UK from 6th Aug 2008 - 5th Nov 2008
-->Unemployed between 1st Aug 2008 - 27th Apr 2009. Also between July 2012 - 14th August 2012
So..there are two things I have to consider.
First thing is I am unemployed when I went to India between Sep 2008-Nov 2008. UKBA says..it must be a paid leave or business leave or serious compelling reason. I have no reason to say apart from general visit.
Second thing I was jobless between Aug 2008 to April 2009. UKBA wants economically active.
Can you throw some light on these..Any senior members?
Thanks

nothing to worry about.
As long as your days out are less than 180 days/year, you will be fine.(and this doesnt have to be work related, paid, etc. you are ok with occassional visits and holidays)
Tier 1 holder doesnt have to be in employment all the time. I was unemloyed for like 20 months all together, and I still got my ILR last month.

Thank you for your quick response.
I was confused with the paragraph 6.2 in the SET(O) application form (Section -6, Page 14, just after the details about absences) where it says
"Evidence of all work-related absences (including paid annual leave) is required from those applying under Tier 1 (General);Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer);Tier 2 (General); Tier 2 (Minister of religion); Tier 2 (Sportsperson); Tier 5 International Agreement, and permitted employment categories - except Highly Skilled Migrants. "
"Evidence of absence due to compelling or compassionate reasons is also required from all of the above categories, and those applying under the Business person; Self-employed person; Investor; Innovator;
Writer; Composer, and Artist categories."
-->Do they mean...if I am absent while I am employed..I need some evidence from the employer.
-->What it mean for people who are unemployed (Tier-1)and left abroad for a visit..should I simply mention in the letter that I was actively seeking employment even though I visited home country.
Thanks in advance
