Indefinite Leave to Remain (PR) - Validity

Hi,
I am a Naturalised British Citizen and in process of getting British Passport and my wife holds Non British Passport with Indefinite Leave to Remain (PR).
We are planning to relocate to USA for work reasons,My question to keep my wife's Indefinite Leave to Remain (PR) in how many days she can be out of UK.I got from my friend that to have a valid Indefinite Leave to Remain (PR) a person should be in UK for at least 1 days for every 2 years.
Can you please update me on this and also where can i get this information from home office web site.
