Hi all

one of my friend needs urgent advice...........

He is looking to apply for ILR.He has recently started IT Contracting and self employed and ILR is due in June'14.

He initially came to UK on Work permit in Feb'07 and later got his visa changed to Tier1 General in 2009 and now got it further extended which is valid until June'14.

However mainly during (11-Oct-09 to 15-Jul-10, 277 days), he was working from Offshore (India) for the same company, though throughout these years his visa status remained active.

During his offshore working India, he was paid in Rupees. Other then that he was paid in Pounds

Kindly advice if he is eligible.

As far as I know you can't be outside the UK for more than 180 days in a single year of the 5 years continuous period (every 12 months predating the date of ILR application). As doing so you'll break the continuous period, regardless of that for work purposes or not.
