My son-in-law is in the UK on a spouse visa and due to apply for ILR in March 2014 under the old rules. When he applied for leave to enter my husband and I offered third party sponsorship for accommodation and maintenance. My daughter has two small children and wasn't in a position to work. We dont claim any benefits and own our home. He was granted the 2 year spouse visa.
Since his arrival he has been fortunate enough to gain employment and has been working full time since Apr 2012.
I have a coupe of questions that I hope someone can answer:
My husband and I are quite happy for them to continue living with us whilst saving for a house deposit. We do not provide maintenance, only accommodation. Do we just need to supply a letter confiming this or do we have to provide bank statements, salary slips etc?
My daughter wasn't working when he arrived and claims child benefit and child tax credits. She has recently set up as self employed but doesn't have much income at the moment. Will the fact her husband can suppport them financially be enough for the visa without her having a regular salary?

Yes just include a letter stating you allow them both to live with you and they have a room for their exclusive occupation and consider including a land registry certificate to show you own the property.

His income should suffice supplying 3 months wage slips and corresponding bank statements. Remember cohabitation proof, a letter each or one joint for every 4 months of the last 2 years. Tax credits should be in joint names.
