Hi I applied for Ilr (lr) back in AUgust and recently got bad news my mother is not well and is getting worse quickly as a result of being ill over thelast 5 yearsand the doctors in Singapore have said it will be much better for my mother if I am with her during these difficult times (I have that in writing)

So I emailed my local my mp explaining the above scanned all the required documents and I got a reply from him this morning

Dear Mr Rahman

My office is making enquiries of the UKVI to ascertain the current status of your application. Please note that MPs can no expedite any case only make enquiries for you.  Responses can take a few days and as soon as I hear from the UKVI I will write to you again.

Mike Freer MP
Conservative Member of Parliament for Finchley & Golders Green

I thought mps could expedite home office applications not just make enquiries
If so Can someone please advise me on what to do next?
Shall I email these documents to the home office directly, however I was told that the home office will not speed up the decision making process unless an mp is involved.

Thanks in advance

They can, generally they will make an "enquiry" and if the emergency is serious enough a decision will usually be made swiftly.
