Happy new year every body.
My friend ,a work permit holder. He have work for 5 years now. His visa will end by 20 Jan 2014. He need to apply indefinite leave to remain. He did tried for life in the UK test many time but he not yet pass it. Can he still apply and by the time also keep take a test.

In order to qualify for settlement you must meet KoLL which includes passing LIUK. S(he) just needs to read the book from start to end. He should apply by post for SET(O) before his leave expires and write that he's trying for the test and as soon as he passes he'll send the certificate. However, if he doesn't think he'll pass it soon then he should extend his stay rather than apply for ILR. Remember to ensure he has valid ID to take the test.

Has he tried listening to the questions through the head phones which are made available at all test centres. It often helps to hear the questions while reading from the screen.
