Do we need to inform UKBA about name change of my Kid ?

I am just new member of this forum and keep hearing abt this from my friends. I am here with my first query. 
I am on Teir-2 Visa (till 15th April) and due for ILR any time after 08 April. My kid born here has dependent Visa till 15 April’14. I have started his name change process and will change his passport by Feb end with new name. As after my ILR, my kid would be eligible to register for citizenship and won’t go for Visa extension any more.
Query : Please could you let me know if do I still need to inform UKBA about his name change and get new BRP ?
(I know after name change I should get new BRP against new Name within 3 months), but new passport would be changed by Feb end and will go for citizenship soon after 15th April.
