ILR (Tier 1G) - Earnings + Absences

Hello everyone,

I will be applying for ILR in late March, after living in the UK for five years with tier 1 (general) visa.

I've gone through the form and guidance, and I have a few questions:

1. Section 5, question 5.2 - I live with a flatmate in a rented flat. Should I specify the amount of the entire rent, or only my share of it?

2. question 5.5 - am I correct that if I do not receive public funds, I do not need to fill any of the following parts of this section? I mean the SOC code, rate of pay etc.

3. Absences from the UK - I have been out of the UK for less than 90 days during the entire period, and all absences were taken as annual leave from work for the purpose of holidays/family visits. The longest absence was for 35 days on a holiday.
Do I need an employer letter confirming these absences? I am thinking of getting one anyway just to be safe, but would be grateful to learn about any experience someone else may have had regarding this issue. Also, are there any rules as to when this letter should be dated in relation to the application date (such as within 30 days before the application etc.)?

4. Employer's letter for earnings - I have changed jobs a few months ago so will be declaring earnings from two different employers. From my previous employer I will ask for a letter confirming earnings, and my question is similar to the previous one - can I get the letter now or should it be dated closer to the application date?

5. Earnings - because I changed jobs, I have one month in which I earned salaries from both employers. I'm considering the possibility of discarding my previous employer's last payment so I will have a continuous 12 salaries instead of 13 - just to make it more straight forward. I will reach the minimum required to earn points without this last salary. Obviously my last payment will still appear in my bank statement, although I will not declare it. Would that raise any questions at all? I can't see why as I understand that they only consider earnings I declare, but I would just like to be sure.

I would appreciate any comment. Thank you!

Hey ,

I will be applying very soon...

1. Just mention the amount you pay, you dont have to mention flatmate and all those stuff.

2. Just mention the SOC code, no need to mention the rest ( Thats what I did).

3. As you said if your absences are less than 90 days you dont need any letter from your employer.

4. Your pay stubs and bank statements will be showing your earning you dont need a separate letter from employer.

5. you can do that, you can claim any 12 months from last 15 months.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,
Uday

Thanks, Uday. and good luck with your application!

a couple of questions -

2. Does this apply for Tier 1 General? I don't really know what SOC is and where I find out about it...

4. I will be getting a letter instead of the payslips. Does anyone know about any timing requirement?
