Advisor says SET M ILR will be rejected

Hello

My wife is here on a spousal visa, I am a UK citizen (born here). She came to the UK in Dec 2011 and completed her 2 years last month.
I work, she doesn't. My salary is approx. £33k per year and we live with my family so bills are shared.
We went to an immigration advisor and he said my application would be rejected because I could only show £4k in savings & £2k in our current account, so £6k savings total. I thought that savings wouldn't be an issues because of my salary but the advisor said a person could lose their job at any time so the UKBA will want proof that even if they did they wouldn't claim benefits.

Can anyone advise?

Rubbish. You've been very poorly advised. Just one point...when does your wife's visa expire?

I agree with Casa. She should be okay if you don't lose your job before she applies in-time for SET(M). Moreover, your savings and current accounts may even be enough for adequate maintenance.

Apply now.
