Hi all this is for a friend of mine here on a spouse visa for a british citizen, her visa expired in October 2013, she's just done her Life in the UK test and passed, what are her options, she needs to apply for ILR, can she or would she have to get an extension first, sorry if its been asked before. Many thanks for yr help.

Most likely she'll need to leave and apply from her home country unless there are extreme circumstances as to why she cannot.
I think that would put her back to square one too, on the 5 year FLR route rather than the 2 year one she was on.
Wait for others though....

If you search the forum, there are a few posts/threads with the same query and very good advice from moderators and some people have had success with applications after their spouse visa has expired. I will have a look and if I find the posts, I will add the link to this thread.

Your friend is talking rubbish, there is no 6 month rules, 2 recent members were successful after 2 and 3 years respectively.
