Absences - time off in lieu??

Sometimes we work deadlines, meaning we can take days off at other times.
This means my absences can be greater than my actual amount of annual leave.
Think this will be a problem?

If you are in UK and taking day off that won't be counted towards absence for ILR calculation.

And if you use these to travel (Thurs-Mon trip to EU)?
Doesn't make sense if not - the absences are holidays - still employed full time, employer does not mind, in the spirit of the leave

Just put everything as Holiday or Annual Leave, doesn't matter if its lieu time or annual holiday, no need to make it super complicated, if absences are under the threshold then CW won't even look twice

I agree. Some people have to make frequent travels for the purpose of business. I can confirm that HO doesn't look and scrutinize short absence and gaps with a magnifying glass. As long as the UK income demonstrable docs are provided then that's fine.
