Hi All,

I would like to know your thoughts to find out has anyone got ILR by using EMD qualification ?

On the home office website here:
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... uage-life/

Please click on at the bottom:

English language qualification

You can read it says:
be listed as an ESOL qualification on the Ofqual Register of Regulated Qualifications and have been taken in England, Wales or Northern Ireland.

When i click on the link of OFQUAL then i come here:
http://register.ofqual.gov.uk/Qualification

In organisation section i can see EMD qualification is listed in there which means it is acceptable as a awarding body.

However i am very confused by looking at this case here where someone was rejected having EMD qualification!!

Has anyone got the ILR having EMD Qualification or know anyone who have got ILR with EMD as a awarding body ?

Looking forward to hear from you to solve this mystry

I have seen this on OFqual registered qualification list so it should be okay, but haven't heard anyone getting successful/unsuccessful with this.

Better to call OfQual or home office directly and ask them.

You use this EMD qualification for ilr and naturalisation.for switching as spouse of settled person in uk you need A1 in appendex o.EmD is not in that list.

you mean to say that it can be used to get ILR with SET(O) but not for spouse settlement?

why it is accepted for one thing but not for the other?

Today I called Homeoffice and asked this question, and they confirmed that if it is on OfQual register and taken in England, then it is acceptable.

So, I guess it should be okay.

I don't know what the current status is with regards to the investigation of if they are being accepted again.
