ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LIFE IN THE UK FOR PREGNANT WOMAN

Hi,

My wife has been living with me since November 2010 as Tier 1 (General) dependent and I have received ILR in March 20104 on the basis of 10 years long residence. It is very difficult for her to prepare for english language and life in the UK being pregnant and looking after a toddler son.

I am looking to the answers of the following questions.

Can my wife apply for an exemption from english language and life in the UK requirements on the basis of pregnancy?
If she is able to apply for FLR (M), can she apply for ILR straight away under transitional arrangements as she has completed two years in the UK?

Many thanks
Asif

FLR(M) only requires A1 English (basic) not LIUK.

Thanks Amber but can she apply for ILR straight away after receiving FLR (M)? in that case she has to provide LIUK.

No, she can't. It would have been different had she switched to FLR(M) before 6 April 2014.

Thanks Amber.

How long does she has to wait after receiving FLR (M) before she can apply for ILR?

5 years, 2 x FLR(M).
