ILR after spouse visa

Hello! I came back to the UK in December 2011 on a spouse visa. The visa expired on March 15th 2014 and I applied for an extension rather than apply for ILR because I failed the Life in the UK test. I got my spouse visa extension in May 2014. It will expire in May 2016.

When I apply for ILR in 2016, will I still fall under pre-July 2012 regulations or post?

Thank you to those who answer! :)

You can apply for ILR as soon as you meet the requirements of LIUK and B1 English test. Pre July 12 rules should apply.

So it means I can apply for my ILR next month or anytime before May 2016 given I've passed the Life in the UK test? I did IELTS in 2011 and scored 7. When I extended my spouse visa I didn't sit for another IELTS exam. I submitted the expired certificate. Is there anywhere I can find out more about it please? Thank you very much!
