Switch Tier 1 to Tier 2

Hi,
I have been in the UK for 5 years on a Tier 1 (General) visa.
I no longer meet the requirements for Tier 1 (salary) and my employer is going to sponsor me under Tier 2 (General)
I have been in the UK continuously for 5 years so I think I qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain, the only thing that I'm questioning is paragraph 245HF of the Immigration Rules Part 6A:
(c) The applicant must have spent a continuous period of 5 years lawfully in the UK, of which the most recent period must have been spent with leave as a Tier 2 Migrant, in any combination of the following categories:
Can I apply directly for Indefinite Leave to Remain or do I need to apply for the tier 2 visa?
Many thanks.
