ILR granted as a minor - implications?

Hi everyone

New to the forum and glad to be here. Finding it very useful but do have some questions.

Question 1:
From what I can tell online and on here, Indefinite Leave to Remain is only granted basically after living here for 5 years. I got this when I was 16 and had only been here for 6 months at the time. I'm not entirely sure why. My father is British but is considered by 'descent' since he got his Right of Abode due to his grandfather being born in the UK (s14 of BNA 1981). For all other intent and purpose, he is 'otherwise than by descent' but I'm not sure why or even how I was granted ILR.

Would anyone be able to answer this?

Also, I went back to RSA to study and came back in 2012 and have been in the UK since then. I would obviously like to get my British Passport as soon as possible. Does the above have any implications for this as I can't seem to find anything online.

Question 2:
As stated above, I was granted ILR when I came to the UK as a 16 year old (2004). I have been back within the 2 year period all the time and only noticed today (honest) that I had one passport stamp as 'Leave to enter for 6 months' in 2003. I then got my ILR and noticed the following in the passport stamps upon entry:
2006 - Normal stamp
2007 - Normal stamp but the bottom right part of the 'Leave to enter...' part is slightly visible. Its only a small tiny portion of the total stamp (maybe an 8th). So its not the whole stamp, but the entire date stamp with immigration officer number is visible.
2009 / 2010 - Similar to above except different small parts are slightly visible (and I mean barely slightly!).
2012 (April) - Normal
2012 (Sept) - Normal
2012 (Dec) - Normal
2013 (June) - Normal but the IO wrote 'VI??' above the stamp.
2013 (Aug) - Normal

I've been working in the UK for a while now and I'm a little concerned about the stamps in 2007/09/10 and also the 2013 June one. Any ideas? I'd hate to have found out now that my ILR has been cancelled but find it very unlikely considering that the 2012 (April) stamp is on the same page (and next to them) as the 2009 and 2010 stamps noted above and since they are not complete stamps, would perhaps render them invalid, also considering that I've been let in normally without restriction since then? I'm also on a South African passport and we need Visa's to enter the UK so again, I'm in doubt as to whether its been cancelled since I was let in with no questions asked. I have never spent more than 2 minutes at the IO desk since they just asked where I stay (with my father) and then stamp and I'm away.

I'd appreciate the communities feedback on the above.

Kind regards,
Jason

Thanks in advance for the help.
