Spouse visa

Hi everyone..
Im new to this forum and im not sure if im posting under the right index.
Nevetherless, im applying for ILR (10year) route next month.
But as dependant is not allowed on the same application, i would like some advice or anyone who can clarify me on the issue.
My wife is in the country under a student visa until May 2015.
1. after how long can my wife apply as dependant so that she can remain permanently?
2. what are the requirements both of us have to meet at the time she will or can make an application to stay permanently?
PS: I have read the UK visa guidance, and i cant figure out under which category she falls into
