Spouse entry to UK: March 2011
File 1
Passport and BRP (Main and Dependent)
Application form, Set (O)
Payment confirmation print out
Appointment confirmation email printout
12 month payslips
12 month bank statements

Degree certificate (Main and Dependent)
UK NARIC Letter confirming English Language for Dependent
Marriage certificate

Please can you also answer the below query
• All my friends who went to Glasgow under Tier 1 General were never asked for absence letters. I was out of UK for 133days in total 5yrs; do you think I don’t need the absence letter as long as I detail the absences on the application form?
• Spouse came to UK in March 2011; she is definitely eligible for ILR and not FLR?
Thanks
Sandy

But would you have completed 5 years by the end of your visa expiry date ?
Please correct me if I am wrong but you will be short by few weeks if we consider 27.07.2009 - 09.07.2014 as 5 years?

I can apply 28days before 5th anniversary which is 27.07.2014. So I am eligible from 30th June 2014 onwards, I even queried with home office after my last extension, please see their response below
UKBA email response:
You are concerned that this latest grant of leave will cause you a problem when if you decide to apply for settlement, as you will not have completed the required 5 year qualifying period. From the dates you have provided, you were granted initial qualifying leave from the 27/07/2009 you will therefore be able to apply for settlement 28 days before this day in 2014 - i.e. the 30th June 2014.
As you currently have leave until the 09th July 2014, you will have a 9 day period in which to make an in-time application for settlement. If planning to apply again at a PEO, you will need to ensure that your appointment is no earlier than 1st July 2014. Alternatively, you can submit a postal application.

More senior members comment would be helpful re list of documents, as I am no expert on this, and thanks for clarifying the residential requirement issue.

If planning to apply again at a PEO, you will need to ensure that your appointment is no earlier than 1st July 2014.
Do these statements not contradict each other? if he/she can apply on the 30th June, shouldn't they also be able to get a PEO appointment that day, rather than the 1st?
My Tier 1 expires on exactly the same day and I am planning on a PEO appointment on the 30th.

Hi Sandy
Good luck for your appointment tomorrow, hope it goes well for you!
Yes, I think the documents look fine. Only two minor things, which I am assuming you must have covered :
1) You haven't mentioned about a NARIC certificate for your degree for English level - I'm assuming this was a British degree. (If not the PBS calculator for this I assume ?)
2) Your list of absences with entry and exit stamp dates - I am assuming this was less than 11 rows long and you have filled this within the application form.
I am sure you will be fine mate, good luck!! Don't forget to post your experience after getting the approval letter

Hi SSA_18
Thanks for the reply
I obtained my Masters from UK, but my wife from India so have got UK Naric Letters for her degree certificate
Regarding absenses, my total is 125days and was paid annual leave where i went to visit family and to europe for holidays, i have not enclosed the absence letter in my documents, but i have obtained a letter from my manager which i will keep as additional document, hope this will be fine as none were work related and i am on Tier 1 General?
I have filled in the absence details on the application itself, hope that will suffice?
Thanks

I think this should be fine as long as you have explained your absences in a cover sheet.
Thanks,
