hello all

i need an urgent advice. i am on student visa but will complete my 10 years soon and will then apply for 10 year LR ILR. i just need to know that is there any requirement to be in "paid employment" when apply for 10 years immigration category?

a consultant told me that i need to show a paid job to home office because otherwise they will refuse my 10 year long residence application because they may think that ill claim unenployment benefits if granted ilr?

please advise

Its entirely wrong advice you get because having or not having job is not required for applying ILR on the basis of 10 years long residence. Even, a lot students in now a days don't have right of work but still completing their 10 years of long residence.

Indeed, it's not a requirement.
