SET(O) Form : 6.3

Hello all

Would really appreciate a quick reply on below query:

Situation:

- Tier 1 General. Applying for ILR. Have spent 4 years 11 months in UK with 105 days absences (all personal vacations, none work related), and absences spread across my time.

- Currently a freelancer. Requested ex employer from my permie days for a letter detailing annual leaves to submit as evidence. Employer replied they dont maintain leaves of ex employees on system, provided me a letter on company letterhead saying the same.

- Have written a letter addressed to UKBA detailing my absences, mentioning they were personal visits, with the table and everything, also adding that ex employer has not provided annual leave summary. Submitting the letter i wrote, letter from ex employer and my email requesting the ex employer for the letter, as my evidence for explaining absences (referred to as absence letter bundle henceforth).

Issue: Section 6.3 has no option to indicate that I am submitting a letter detailing my absences. Only provides option for submitting letter for compelling or compassionate reasons of absence.

Option 1: I leave 6.3 blank, and just submit my absence letter bundle

Option 2: Select 'Other' option and explain the same in the box below (although it says evidence only for compelling and compassionate reasons of absence)

Option 3: Paste a post-it note just below 6.3 on the form, asking them to refer the absence letter bundle submitted.

What would be a better option?

In a bit of pressure to get docs sorted out, before heading for the PEO in 2 days.

cheers

Hi,

I think the best thing for 6.3 would be to select option " submitting letter for compelling or compassionate reasons of absence."

and provide the absence letter bundle.

Good Luck !

Hi
I don't think selecting the option that gkuk suggests is a good idea - it might rise unnecessary questions about what compelling circumstance you faced etc.
It's probably best to leave it blank and submit the employer letter nevertheless. I remember reading on the forum that a couple of guys did that and turned out fine.
You should be fine especially as it's only a 108 days away in 5 years .
Please do remember to post your experience and what you did in the end - after your get the approval letter :-)
Good luck !!

I specifically asked this same question to one of the Home Office customer service member.

She said, if you can't get the evidence of absences you just leave it blank and let the case worker decide.
