Appointment Date: 01.07.2014, 9am
Tier 1 General to ILR
1 Dependant
Single Employer
We reached Glasgow Home office at 8:30am on a sunny Tuesday Morning; they let us in after security check and were seated. The staff as always was very friendly and informative. We were given our token at 8:55am and were called to submit the documents just after 9am. Biometrics given at 9:45am and were asked to be seated.
They had some system issues so the process was delayed and after a very long wait we were called at 1:30pm and told our ILR is approved and will receive BRP in the post. This was a big relief as we waited to for 4.5hrs. No questions were asked regarding docs. I also submitted a copy of all the documents except the application.
This PEO was recently refurbished and is really very nice

Congrats Sandy. It is indeed nicely refurbished. Off topic questions, did they make an announcement or instruct about phone usage policy as you entered the premises? Did you use your mobile phone while in the waiting area? Even to just browse or check / respond to email. ?
I did it last month whilst there, (was responding to my work email) and my phone was rudely confiscated, when people around me were doing the exact same thing. There was even 1 lady who was speaking into her phone in the waiting area( she had an id)
When I asked later, I was told there was a policy against mobile phone use, but there were no signs or instructions. I was told the as for people speaking, they had restricted permission as they work there.
I have been to Croydon PEO in the past, where there is no such policy and mobile phone use is allowed in the waiting area.

Hi HSR1972
I was out of country for a total of 125 days, all paid annual leave and none work related. Though I had taken an absence letter from my manager I kept in the additional documents file. They never asked for this.
As long as it’s not work related absence, you don’t need to worry, but it’s safe to carry one just in case
Thanks
Sandy

Hi O¬_Relly
Regarding usage of phone there was no restriction and were told we are allowed to carry our phones and can use. Not sure why they confiscated, sounds a bit rude as Scots are know for their friendly nature and good sense of humour…probably a one off, but it’s a friendly PEO
Thanks
Sandy

Thanks a lot Sandy. What exactly mean work related ? Does this mean " Business Trip " which company sends abroad , then you need to show an absence evidence letter ? I have got around 80 days and these are not Business related absences and I am within 180 day rule ? I am going through this forum most of them they said if you are absence within 180 days then don't even question or ask anything. Kindly revert back to me .

Hi hsr_72
Yes, I agree with other members on the forum that if you are under 180days in the last 5 years you don’t need an absence letter. As I mentioned I just took just in case, but never submitted not asked.
Don’t worry about that. All the best….
Thanks
Sandy

Thanks a lot Sandy. I've only one employer absence letter and for other absences i don't have any letter. As advised by you since
i have less than 80 days in 5 years it should be fine.
cheers
