Dear All,
I have a query regarding my ILR eligibility, my case is explained as below -
Tier 2 ICT visa first granted on 20th Nov 2009 but traveled to UK on 09th Dec 2009.
So my question is that shall i start counting 28 days before 20th Nov or will it be 28 days before 09th Dec?
Thanks

Life in the UK - wrong personal details

Dear All,
I have booked my life in the Uk test for 15th November 2014 but just noticed that I have filed in the wrong 'Town or city of birth' but since the exam is due in less than 7 days, the system won't allow me to change the details.
Is there anything that can be done please?
Thanks
Anant

Ask them at the centre when you go to update the system with the correct detail and then make sure you check that everything is right because you cannot change it after you have done the test and received your pass letter.

Many thanks Char for your speedy response.
Few questions - Do you know of such cases where they have allowed to update the details on the day of exam (before exam)?
There is a help line number available on the life in the UK website - will it help if i call them tomorrow?
Thanks a lot

Call the helpline and see what they say. But I remember when I did my test, they do ask you before the exam to make sure EVERY detail is correct and I remember someone correcting something on theirs and they had no issue doing it. A booking is just that, a booking, so on the day you should have an opportunity to correct the error and make sure you have proof of town of birth in case they want to see.

HI Char / All,
Called up the helpline of Life in the UK today and the lady told me that they can't change the details as it is now locked so your only option is to go the exam center and see if they allow you to sit in the exam. According to her, the details cannot be changed at the exam center also

Ahhh, I see. Have you contacted the test centre when you are booked to do the test?
What is the actual town of birth and what did you put down in error??

I have not booked the actual town center (Luton) instead i called the helpline which is mentioned on the life in Uk website (0800 015 4245 ).
Actual or City of Birth town is Moradabad and i have mentioned Hemel Hempstead by instead (freak chrome auto fill issue) and believe me there is no Hemel Hempstead in India
I have uploaded the screenshot
Thanks a lot

Oh dear, that is funny!! I would ask the test centre to be honest as it is an honest mistake.

thanks Char, atleast someone can empathize with me. I also filled in my wife's application and surprisingly filled in the correct details for her.
Just out of interest - Does 'place of birth' appear in the pass certificate of life in the UK test?
Thanks a lot
