Highly Urgent Cohabitation Document Clarification!

Hi guys,
I have got the following documents as a spouse of my wife. Can anyone please spot any issues with the following.
I am applying for ILR Set (m) in May 2015.

So I need the documents from May 2013.

1) I got 1 joint tenancy agreement for 2 years (October-2013-october 2015)
2) I got the following joint bank statements:
HSBC –Current Account- October 2012-October 2013- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
HSBC-Current Account-October 2013-October 2014-- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
HSBC current Account-October 2014- Untill now (active)

3) Gas Bill in my name – December 2013-untill Now (covering every 4 months)
4) Electricity Bill in wife name- December 2013-untill Now (covering every 4 months)
5) Tax assessment in my name (april 2014-april 2015)

i)Can the HSBC accounts being dormant be an issue or is it just the statement dates which matters.

ii) Clearly not all documents cover the exact 2 years period. Only HSBC statements cover 2 years period. But holistically it covers 2 years period . So is this going to be an issue?

iii) I only have 1 joint tenant agreement. Shouldn’t there be 2 tenant agreement for each year. Can this be an issue?

Please guys; help from any member will be highly appreciated as I am applying really soon in person.
Thanks

It doesn't matter if the bank account is dormant if you are only using the statements as proof of joint address.
You need to submit 6 pieces of evidence from at least 3 different categories spread as evenly as possible over the full 2 years. As a guide, approx 1 document dated every 4 months.
At present you don't have sufficient as some of those you've listed are in single names.
If evidence is in joint names 6 documents. if in single names you need to submit 12
You can provide anything showing name and postcode.
Council tax, NHS or GP registration, TV licence.
The tenancy agreement doesn't need to be issued yearly. In fact most rental agreements are on a 6 months 'rolling basis' where the tenancy continues without new contracts.

Don't you think my single documents are enough? I am covering 1.5 years with my bills and wife is covering 1.5 years with her bills. I am covering 1 year with tax assessment. I am covering 2 years with the joint bank statements. I am covering 1.5 years with joint tenant agreement. Can you point out where my documents are lacking.

I can't use Council tax as it is covering only 6 months or can I? I don't have any other single documents in my name .

You can include your Council tax bill. it doesn't have to cover a 2 year period. How many documents are in joint names?
Note 8 We need 6 letters or other documents addressed to you jointly or in both your names. If you do not have enough items
in your joint names, you may also provide items addressed to each of you individually if they show the same address for both of
you.
For example – 4 items of correspondence in joint names to the same address and 2 items addressed to each partner at the
address. In total 8 items will need to be submitted.
If you and your partner have no bills or correspondence in joint names you will need to submit 12 items (6 each) of correspondence,
evidencing that you reside together at the same address.
Examples of acceptable letters and documents are listed below. They must be originals.
The dates of the letters or documents should spread over the whole 2 years. They should be from at least 3 different
sources.

Hi,

I got the following documents in joint name:

2) I got the following joint bank statements:

1- HSBC-Current Account-October 2013-October 2014-- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
1- HSBC current Account-October 2014- Untill now (active)

1- HSBC Saving Account - July 2012-July 2013
1- HSBC Saving Account - July 2013- July 2014
1- Hsbc saving Account - July 2014- Till date.

3) 1 Council Tax- Covering from December 2014- Till date. (only 5-6 months )

I believe both of the HSBC accounts would be regarded as 1 source.

So all together I got 8 joint documents from 3 different sources.

Hi
My case bit similar, I need ur valuable inputs about my ILR application which is in May 2015. My wife and my self ( I'm the main applicant) applying for ILR in June 2015 (3yrs+2yrs). We lived together upto tier-1 General extension (June 2013). After that my wife got job in different place which she can't commute daily, so she moved to that place (she changed her address to that place) and we use to commute on weekly basis by flights, trains... Recently she got got job in near by place and we are living together since 5 months, we have all bills and council tax have both names.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Gillaciuos,
I hope my reply would help you.

In all fairness UKVI is looking for 12 document spread over 2 years.

I hope your spouse would have received the NI number - Letter from Department of Works and Pension -
Bank Statement - for the spouse
Bank statement - for yourself
your P60 which would have your address
Letter from GP - I got one from my GP having both of our names in one letter as the GP is charging for each letter. If one letter for both - treat this as 2 documents
Tenancy agreement - I hope it would be on both names - 2 document. You have mentioned that you have only one document for last year. However, if the tenancy document has no expiry, it should be ok. If it says that the tenancy is for one year, then you should have renewal document, again on both names - treat as 2 documents
Any letter from Gas / Electricity / BT phone bill - joint names or individual names - treat as 1 document each. again any date in between the last two years would be suffice.
Again Council Tax letter - if you have one, can be added
I had attached the Voters registration letter, for both of us - so 2 documents

To put shortly,
Yourself
Your P60, Your bank Statement, Your GP letter, Tenancy Agreement, Voters Registration,
Your Spouse
His / Her NI Number letter with the address or any letter from DWP
Bank Statement - No need to worry about balances
GP Letter
Tenancy Agreement
Voters Reigstration

So in the above I have listed 10 documents, and left two for you to choose from whatever you have like Energy Bills , Telephone Bills, Council Tax letter or Any other correspondence you may have like Credit card statement or so.

Hi MaVa,
First of all thanks for the reply. Really appreciated. I would have included any other document your specified but I don't have it.
The only joint documents I have is:

i)3 HSBC joint current account(covers entire 2 years)
ii) 3 HSBC joint saving account (covers entire 2 years)
iii) 1 tenant agreement (covers last 1.5 years)
iv) 2 council tax bill (covers last financial year and the current financial year)

Does these joint documents cover the cohabitation period?

Thanks in advance.

I hope the Tenancy is on both names, if not treat as one document

iv) 2 council tax bill (covers last financial year and the current financial year) I hope this is on both names.
Treat this a 2 document

Speak to your GP and they should provide a Statement of Fact mentioning your name, your spouse name, your address, and your NHS Number. This can be treated as both proof of address and your are living together. This could be a problem unless you are registered to two different GP practice, in which case, you should get two separate letter but with one address.

This will constitute 2 more document

Do you get any letter from HMRC, if not you could call them and ask them your Tax amounts what you are paying or your current tax code. They will write to you to your address.

Do you have any other bills even if it is on online bill like Mobile, Internet account or so, even if it is for one person, it would add up.

Hope this information helps.

Hi MaVa,
I have the following single name documents:

1) Gas Bill in my name – covering last 1.5 years
2) Electricity Bill in wife name- covering last 1.5 years
3) Tax assessment in my name (april 2014-april 2015)

Can I just ask you again. Do I really need these single name documents as I am already completing more than 6 documents( as mentioned in the previous posts) in joint name from 3 different sources covering the last 2 years. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My friend,
your HSBC joint account for the year 2012-2013, 2013-2014, 2014 - 2105 can be counted only as a single document and not 3 document. It can be counted as 1 document for you and 1 document for your spouse (as it is in joint name)

Similarly, the savings account. It is not how many letters that count. It is the how many accounts that count.

Similarly, the council Tax bill, it would cover as one document and not how many bills you have. If it is on joint name, treat as two documents towards your twelve.

As you have mentioned, the Gas bill could be counted as a sixth document on your list and Electricity in wife's name can be counted as 6th Document for her.

Tax assessment letter on your name can be counted as 7th document in your name.
For you
1. Joint tenancy agreement for 2 years (October-2013-october 2015) -
2. Joint Current Account bank statements:
HSBC –Current Account- October 2012-October 2013- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
HSBC-Current Account-October 2013-October 2014-- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
HSBC current Account-October 2014- Until now (active)
3. HSBC Saving Account - July 2012-July 2013
HSBC Saving Account - July 2013- July 2014
HSBC saving Account - July 2014- Till date.
4. Gas Bill in my name – December 2013-until Now (covering every 4 months)
5. Tax assessment in my name (April 2014-april 2015)
6. You could ask for a letter from GP to make it six or your voter’s registration or poll card would do the job.

For your wife
1. Joint tenancy agreement for 2 years (October-2013-october 2015) -
2. Joint Current Account bank statements:
HSBC –Current Account- October 2012-October 2013- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
HSBC-Current Account-October 2013-October 2014-- (dormant: shows X amount carried forward)
HSBC current Account-October 2014- Until now (active)
3. Joint Savings Account bank statements
HSBC Saving Account - July 2012-July 2013
HSBC Saving Account - July 2013- July 2014
HSBC saving Account - July 2014- Till date.
4. Electricity Bill in wife name- December 2013-untill Now (covering every 4 months)
5. You could ask for a letter from GP to make it five or your wife’s voter’s registration or poll card would do the job.
6. You would need something else as sixth. If see got a Letter from Department of Works and Pension for NI number or so. If not you could apply one by phone and they send it within a week (I hope)

Thanks Mava, that was really helpful :). Did you provide the complete breakdown of the documents like you mentioned above in the separate sheet?
I am looking to book appointment at Croydon. Just keeping my fingers crossed now.

I would like to update that my application was successful. Special Thanks to MaVa and Casa for their valuable advise.
