English qualification for ILR, as of Dec 2015

Hi all,

Currently I am on Tier 1 visa, and my English qualification has been confirmed with first Tier1 application by IELTS ~5y ago.

Should I pass yet another English test for the ILR application in December 2015?

I am very confused. There are few recent changes in requirements. The Internet has both opinions...

The main concern is that the SET(O) application form doesn't give an option to prove English test by previous visa applications.

PS: Question is only about English Knowledge test, not Life in UK test (this one is mandatory, no doubt).

Ok, but I still confused. The Appendix O has IELTS listed, so Q6 from the FAQ may apply. My IELTS certificate dated 2008 says it is "University Of Cambridge ESOL examination". And FAQ mentions that ESOL is not accepted any more.

Does it mean there are different IELTS tests - and mine is not good one now and I need to pass a newer test again?

Yes, you are right, I must pass an English exam again. I just cannot believe in this madness. Another £150 to waste.

Thank you!
