Can I get an ILR

Hello everyone, here's my situation below
I have heard about ILR being granted to people who have been in this country for more than 14 years via a combination of legal and illegal stay. Below are my details:
1. I first came to UK in September 2002 via a student Visa.
2. I applied for extension in April 2008, but was denied for 2 reasons
a. I worked for more than 20 hours prior to the application for extension.
b. I applied for extension a day after my first visa expired. (overstay by 1 day).
Ever since I have been in this country without a valid visa, working odd jobs.

Realistically where does my application stand in terms of getting my ILR approved. Please let me know.

Should you require more details, I will furnish them upon any response.
Thanks
Reza

My understanding is 14-year rule (concession) is long gone.

Illegal overstay and working for 8 years is a challenging proposition.
There appears to be options at 20 years. Wait for others to suggest and advise.
Before 9 July 2012 it was possible to grant long residence after a period of 14 years continuous residence, but that provision was removed by changes to the Immigration Rules on that date.

The 20 year option does not grant you ILR. It is leave to remain for another 10 years (4 X 2.5 year visas) before you will be able to apply for ILR.

How come you have been able to do odd jobs without anyone asking for proof of workpermit? I don't know about your situation but would advise you to not stay illegally and do worthless jobs for survival, a few years down the line you will be left with no savings and nothing in terms of pension for when you require!

Better go back to your home country and find a good job even if it means to start from scratch.
