Hello,
Apologies in advance if I am adding topic which probably was raised and replied before, just tried to find recent information and didn't have much success.
I am self-employed IT contractor and am going to apply for ILR application. I have been contracting last 15 months and just recently did my accounts and self assessment. Tax return is fully done.
What i am looking is bit easy to understand guidance of what supporting documents in which format i should supply to home office as an evidence of my earnings?
- how many pieces of evidence i should supply?
- Any specific format or key information that i should ensure is included in the documents?
- If you have any template please share. would be much appreciated
Many thanks in advance,

Hi
I am a contractor, recently applied for my ILR in March 2016, approved in August 2016. I do my accounts on my own and have never used the services of any accountant. I submitted the following documents
1. Last 12 months pay slips
2. Dividend vouchers in support of the dividend payments in the last 12 months
3. Had taken a certificate from an accountant in support of these 2 items.

many thanks for your reply! This is helpful.
So to double check - you have not provided any tax return documents(corporate income, etc. ) ?
Also I assume you provided business and bank statements too, right?
Thanks again for your reply!

Hello there,
I used the following documents.
1) Company Incorporation Certificate
2) Latest accounts of Business to make sure there is enough gross profit, after paying corporation tax, which can be taken as dividend.
3) 100 % shareholding certificate , in my case , to ensure I am eligible for all the dividend.
4) CT600
5) Dividend Vouchers
6) Personal Bank Statement showing dividend credit from business account bank statement.
7) All the previous Self Assessments to prove that all the dividend income is declared at HMRC ON TIME consistently
NO AMENDMENTS or SMARTNESS with HMRC

& NO BREAK in corporation TAX PAYMENTS

and not delay in Self Assessments
Result was ILR granted less than 3 months
Best of Luck

I did not provide the HO with any corporation tax return or any personal tax return.... let them have what the policy says.... avoid giving any extra documents other than what is required.
The HO has access to all company documents via the companies house website and can check if required.
They can verify previous dividend payments via the HMRC and check the quantum of dividends declared in earlier tax years.
